Most bottled tonkatsu sauce leans on caramel color and a long list of additives. Tory Food's gets its color and flavor from real produce instead — Korean tomato, apple, and onion, brightened with organic tomato vinegar, with no preservatives, caramel coloring, or artificial flavoring. It lands sweet-tart first, from the tomato and apple, then finishes with a quiet warmth of cinnamon, clove, mustard, and pepper. Balanced rather than sharp, it's mild enough that kids tend to like it and layered enough to hold its own on the table.

How to use it

It's made for a crisp pork or chicken katsu, spooned over the top or served alongside for dipping. From there it goes almost anywhere: dip fries or croquettes in it, pour it over omurice or a rice bowl, or brush it onto a burger for a tangy edge. Refrigerate after opening.
