Description

Which rice breed tastes the best?  This is one of the most frequently asked questions from our customers.  It’s a difficult question as everyone has different palates and preferences.  So, we created rice samplers.  You can taste them and find out your favorite one among our offerings.

Charm Dream: This Gyeonggi rice is is often voted No. 1 in blind tastings in Korea.  It has low protein amount, a deciding qualification for a premium rice.  Charm Dream White Rice is transparent, sticky, keeps the rice aroma for a long time.  Soft and sweet.

Odae: Odae mostly grows in Gangwon-do, a province with mountains, and is usually the first rice to be harvested in the country.  The rice grows in the cold region so it significantly reduces the need for pesticide spray.  Odae rice has a thick body making your chewing rice pleasant.  Super delicious. 

Saechungmu: Jeollanam-do, a southwestern province, is the largest rice producer in Korea.  Saechungmu is relatively new rice variety growing mostly in Jangheung area.  The tasty rice has medium body thickness giving you a pleasant chewing. 

무슨 쌀 품종이 제일 맛있어요? 김씨마켓이 가장 많이 듣는 질문 중 하나입니다.  먹어보지 않고는 알 수 없지요.  쌀마다 각각 다른 맛과 향, 식감을 갖고 있어서 .  그래서 미슐랭 스타 식당들에 김씨마켓이 공급하는 쌀 품종들로 샘플러를 구성해 봤습니다.  직접 맛을 보고 가장 마음에 드는 품종을 골라보세요.

참드림: "경기미"는 경기도에서 나오는 쌀을 통칭하는 단어이지만 그러한 이름을 가진 품종은 없어요.  "이천쌀"이란 것도 지역을 칭할 뿐 품종이 아니듯 말이죠.  경기도에서 생산되는 쌀 종류도 여러 가지인데 참드림은 그 중에서 상당한 고급 쌀입니다.  고양, 파주지역에서 주로 생산되는데 찰기가 있고, 백미는 맑고 투명한 것이 특징이에요.       

오대: 강원도 철원에서 주로 생산되는 오대쌀은 냉해에 강하며 전국에서 가장 먼저 수확되는 쌀입니다. 추운 곳에서 자라다 보니 농약을 적게 뿌려도 병충해의 피해가 적지요.  쌀알이 굵고 밥맛이 매우 뛰어난 고급 품종입니다.  심복백 (쌀알의 가운데와 옆면이 희게 보이는 현상)이 있어 맑고 투명한 백미와는 생김이 달라요.  

새청무: 전라남도는 한국에서 쌀 생산을 가장 많이 하는 곳이지요.  새청무는 장흥을 중심으로 주로 생산되는 비교적 신품종이에요.  쌀알이 굵고 밥맛이 좋으며 가격 대비 맛이 상당해요.  식어도 식감이 오래 유지됩니다.
