Charm Dream rice is 100% Korean rice from Gyeonggi Province that is then milled to varying levels in New York.

There are many different strains of rice, each offering different levels of quality and meal pairings. At Kim’C we select the best rice for flavor and nutrition, importing the unmilled brown rice directly from the local Korean co-op Paju First Rice Growers.

Upon arrival in New York, we store the rice in low moisture and low temperature environments until an order is placed, custom milling the rice to varying flavor profiles.

0% Polish 

Brown rice is high in healthy bacteria, vitamins, and minerals because of the bran left on the rice. Because of this, we recommend cooking brown rice a bit longer and to chew it a bit more thoroughly to help with digestion.

30% Polish

By polishing only a bit of the outer bran off, we remove the paraffin layer which is a bit harder to digest, yet keeping a high amount of the bran nutrients.

50% Polish

The perfect midpoint between the nutrition of brown rice and the sweetness of white rice.

70% Polish

Rice that has been polished 70% is more approachable for white rice lovers while having a bit more nutrition.

White Rice (100% Polish)

The sweetest level of rice is made by removing all rice bran parts (pericarp, seed coat, and aleurone layer).

Cooking Instructions for stovetop

- Measure out 2:1 water:rice ratio

- Heat on high until boiling without lid

- Lower heat, cover, and let simmer for 20 min

- Turn off stove and set aside for 10 min still covered

- Enjoy!

예로부터 경기도의 쌀은 최고로 여겨져 왔지요.  토양과 기온이 벼 재배에 가장 적합했기 때문인데요.  경기도농업기술원에서 개발한 참드림은 경기도에 특화해서 재배되는 품종이에요.  담백질함량이 낮고, 부드러움과 찰진 느낌이 많이 나지요.  식사용 밥으로는 물론이고 김밥이나 초밥으로서도 무척 잘 어울립니다.  씹으면 씹을수록 쌀 특유의 은근한 단맛을 느낄 수 있어요.  밥맛이 입안에서 오랫동안 감돌아 밥 먹는 재미를 되찾으실 수 있을거에요.


Gyeonggi Province is renowned for being Korea’s top rice producer because of the province’s ideal soil, water, and climate. It has been selected as the official province to produce rice for the royal families — Charm Dream rice, developed by Gyeonngi Provincial Agricultural Research Institute, grows only in this esteemed region.
