How can we know the crop year of the rice?

Korean rice is harvested once a year - normally between mid/late September and early November depending on varieties. Then they need time for drying.

Because we mill fresh upon a customer's order - even when you order brown rice, the crop year matters not so much. It will always taste fresh and good. Michelin-starred restaurants still serve some of our crops from 24 months back as it's safe to consume.

Do we have to store our milled rice in the refrigerator?

We also grew up keeping our rice in the pantry, but it turns out the rice that's sold in grocery stores is milled a while back and kept at room temperature, so there's no need to keep it in the fridge.

We learned from our rice producers that once rice is milled, it's like it is freshly produced (the protective bran has been milled off), therefore we offer smaller batches to enjoy it fresh and why we recommend refrigerator storage. Please note, even our brown rice is milled at a very low rate, to provide fresh brown rice with much of the bran still on the rice.

Gift Card

How do gift cards work?

At this time, our system prevents the purchaser from adding a recipient for the digital gift card. The only option is to forward the digital gift card you received to whomever you're gifting.

As long as the recipient uses the code (email) you provide, they will be able to use it. Thank you for your understanding as we look for ways to improve.

Loyalty and Rewards*

What do I have to do to start earning points?

Anyone can earn points as long as you create a Kim’C Market account.

Do my points expire?

Yes, points will expire after one year. An automatic reminder will
be sent out via email 30 days prior to a point expiration date, and
another email will be sent out 7 days prior to the expiration date.

How do I earn points?

For every dollar you spend on Kim’C Market merchandise you receive
two points*. In addition, we may offer promotions and rewards through which you can earn more points.

*Does not include dollars spent on shipping or tax.

Do I earn points if I shop Kim’C Market on Amazon?

No, points can only be earned through purchases made with

What rewards do I get?

We have a variety of rewards from discount coupons to free
products. Check out our Rewards pop-up on the lower right-hand side of
your screen!

How do I redeem my reward?

When you’ve earned enough points you can visit our Rewards popup. Click the redeem button next to the reward that you want and click apply to apply the code to your next order. You can also view all redeemed rewards in the Rewards section by clicking Your Rewards.

Do my rewards coupons expire?

Yes, rewards coupons expire after one year.

Can I stack discounts?

No, you cannot stack discounts.

What happens to my points when I return items or cancel an order?

The points earned from the returned or canceled items will be subtracted from your account.

Can I get notifications regarding my points?

Yes, you can opt in to receive email notifications about the points you’ve earned and reminders for when they are about to expire.

Can wholesale customers participate in the loyalty and rewards program?

No, we do not allow wholesale customers to participate in the
loyalty and rewards program and we do not allow them to redeem rewards.

Referral Program*

What is classified as a successful referral?

Your friend must signup for an account using your referral link to receive their coupon and place an order (minimum order amount must be $49+). Once the purchase is completed you will receive your coupon.

Where can I find my referral link?

You can find your referral link at the bottom of the rewards popup by clicking on Referrals.

If my referral forgot to use my link, is there a way for me to still receive the bonus?

Unfortunately, if your referral forgot to use the link then we are unable to provide the reward.

Misc. Questions

How soon will I receive my package?

We ship out orders only in the US, no later than two business days after the balance on your order has been processed. Delivery is made 1-3 days from date the label is created with selected carrier service.

How do you source?

With our mission to improve people’s health by providing premium Korean foods, Kim’C Market only offers the best quality food from the finest producers in Korea. All of our offerings have passed 12 internal criteria including taste, producer’s reputation, sourcing of ingredients, and brand philosophy.

Gift with Purchase

We offer a gift with purchase for occasional promotion periods which do not cover orders placed for Gift-To-Korea orders. Gift with purchase items are provided for orders placed only in the US.

Sell by date

Every food product at Kim'C Market with less than 3 months to the sell by dates announce the date in the title page.

As a small company focusing on the best customer experience and transparency, Kim'C Market is putting a weight on sharing information on food and correcting myths instead of asking producers to print later dates. (Fact: producers put a lot shorter dates than the lab tests suggest because they can't control the storage and distribution.) Sell by date doesn't mean the food is bad after the date or not edible. It especially doesn't reply to fermented foods - i.e. wouldn't you value aged kimchi or 5 years fermented doenjang? Please read our blog: Understanding Best-By Dates. Can you ensure that my credit card information is safe and not shared?

Kim'C Market can't see nor store your credit card information.
Like so many other merchants, we rely on payment gateway systems. 

Can I order Hanwoo beef and have it delivered to me in the US?

Due to agriculture/livestock restrictions, Hanwoo deliveries are
for within Korea only. We're hopeful for the opportunity to provide
delicious Hanwoo beef in the US in the future.
