A plate that brings quiet elegance to the table

Ceramic artist Kim Sang-in creates tableware where the aesthetic of Joseon-dynasty Korea meets a contemporary sensibility—vessels made for those who appreciate both beauty and flavor, and that settle quietly into everyday life. This long oval plate is neat and refined, with a rim that rises gently along the edge so food stays secure when plated.

Made from Haein-yo's new coarse clay

The plate is thrown from Haein-yo's new coarse clay body, which gives it an earthy, textured character you won't tire of. As each piece is shaped by hand, the line and surface carry the warmth of the maker, and no two are exactly alike.

Made for generous plating

At about 33cm long, the elongated oval gives you room to compose a plate: a whole grilled fish, skewers, jeon (savory pancakes), tteok, appetizers, or a considered arrangement for guests. It pairs naturally with Korean food and settles just as easily onto a Western table, and it reveals even more character used alongside other Haein-yo pieces—quietly making everyday meals feel a little more special.

해인요의 새 흙, 거친 흙으로

이 접시는 해인요의 새 흙인 거친 흙으로 만들어졌어요. 그래서 질리지 않는 흙 특유의 담백한 질감이 살아 있습니다. 손으로 빚어 선과 면에 작가의 손맛이 담기고, 똑같은 것은 하나도 없어요.

여유롭게 담아내는 형태

약 33cm의 길쭉한 타원형이라 음식을 담을 여백이 넉넉해요. 생선구이 한 마리, 꼬치, 전, 떡, 애피타이저, 또는 손님상을 정갈하게 차려낼 때 잘 어울립니다. 한식과 자연스럽게 어울리고 양식 테이블에도 잘 녹아들며, 다른 해인요 그릇과 함께 두면 그 매력이 더 크게 완성됩니다. 일상의 한 끼를 조용히 조금 더 특별하게 만들어 주는 그릇이에요.
