Description

Korean Temple Cooking is a beautiful photographic journey through the food, traditions, and daily life of Korea’s Baekyangsa Temple.

Through interviews and recipes from Jeongkwan Snim, the renowned Buddhist monk and temple cook featured on Netflix’s Chef’s Table, the book explores a way of cooking rooted in seasonality, simplicity, and a deep connection to nature.

Recipes are organized by season, with additional sections dedicated to rice, noodles, tofu, kimchi, seasonings, and more. Essays throughout the book also offer insight into Korean Buddhism, temple life, architecture, traditions, and Jeongkwan Snim’s philosophy toward food.

Both a cookbook and a visual exploration of Korean temple culture, Korean Temple Cooking is designed to be enjoyed in the kitchen and on the coffee table.
