This gift set brings together two quietly extraordinary things: Mamiche, a tea strainer handwoven from over 800 strands of horsehair and framed in bamboo, and organic mugwort loose leaf tea from an 80-year-old family farm in Boseong, Korea’s famed tea region.

Mamiche is made by Korea’s last remaining horsehair artisan, using a centuries-old technique once found in noble households. It’s not just a tool—it’s a small piece of living craft that turns the simple act of steeping tea into something intentional and calming.

The mugwort tea is naturally caffeine-free, rich in traditional benefits, and grown organically in misty Boseong. It’s the kind of tea you reach for at the end of the day—to warm the body, settle the mind, and gently signal “it’s time to rest.”

마미체는 말총 800가닥 이상을 촘촘히 손으로 엮어 대나무와 옻칠로 마감한 티 스트레이너예요. 대한민국 유일의 말총공예 장인, 백경현 선생님이 한 땀 한 땀 만드는 이 도구는 제품마다 조금씩 달라 세상에 딱 하나뿐인 공예품이기도 해요. 이것을 손에 쥐면, 차를 우리는 그 짧은 시간이 왠지 더 천천히, 더 나답게 느껴져요.

함께 구성된 차는 보성의 보향다원에서 옵니다. 1937년부터 5대째 같은 땅을 일궈온 가족 다원으로, 안개와 산 공기, 큰 일교차가 만들어내는 보성만의 환경에서 최고 품질의 차를 재배하고 있어요.

두 가지 차는 전혀 다른 무드예요. 홍차는 따뜻하고 포근하게 감싸주고, 녹차는 맑고 선명하게 깨워줘요. 

홍차는 느린 산화와 숙성 과정을 거쳐 완성해요. 꽃향과 과일향이 자연스럽게 어우러지고, 은은한 시트러스와 꿀단맛이 부드럽게 따라와요. 깊고 풍성한 바디감, 아름다운 선셋 레드빛 수색으로 그냥 마셔도, 밀크티로 즐겨도 모두 잘 어울려요.

홍차: 90°C에서 2~3분. 오트밀크와 꿀을 더하면 실키한 밀크티가 완성돼요. 

녹차는 이른 봄 아침 이슬이 걷힌 직후 채취한 첫물차예요. 바다 내음과 해초향이 은은히 감돌고, 풋풋한 풀향과 구수한 곡물 향이 겹겹이 쌓여 깊고 풍부한 맛을 만들어내요. 맑고 선명한 옥빛 수색은 냉침하면 더욱 아름답고, 뜨겁게 우리면 조용하고 명상적인 한 잔이 돼요.

녹차: 70°C에서 1~2분. 또는 냉장고에서 하룻밤 냉침하면 선명한 옥빛 아이스티가 됩니다.

Mamiche is a traditional Korean tea infuser once used in noble households during the Joseon era, made from a delicate mesh of tightly handwoven horsehair set into a bamboo frame.

This nearly forgotten craft has been revived by Baek Kyung-hyun, Korea’s last remaining master of horsehair weaving. Each Mamiche is made entirely by hand, strand by strand, carrying both functionality and a quiet, restrained beauty. No two are exactly alike; slight differences in weave, curve, and tone give every piece its own warmth and character. More than a simple tea tool, Mamiche acts as a small bridge between past and present, making everyday tea time feel a little more intentional and deeply felt.

The green tea and balck tea in this set comes from Bohyang Dawon in Boseong, one of Korea’s most celebrated tea regions, known for its mist, humidity, and dramatic temperature shifts—ideal conditions for growing tea. Founded in 1937 by farmer Jaehyung Choi, Bohyang Dawon has cultivated tea on the same land for over 80 years. Today, the fifth generation, led by Joonyong Choi, tends approximately 16 acres  of certified organic tea fields, producing teas recognized for their purity and depth.

한때 잊혀졌던 이 말총공예는 현재 대한민국 유일의 말총공예 장인, 백경현 선생님의 손을 통해 다시 이어지고 있습니다. 하나하나 손으로 엮어 만드는 마미체는 실용성과 절제된 미감을 동시에 갖춘 차 도구이자, 짜임·곡선·색감이 조금씩 달라 제품마다 고유한 개성과 온기를 지닌 공예품이기도 합니다. 단순한 티 스트레이너를 넘어, 과거와 현재를 잇고 일상의 차 시간을 조금 더 깊고 정성스럽게 만들어주는 작은 다리 같은 존재입니다.

함께 구성된 그린티와 블랙티또한 한국에서도 손꼽히는 차 산지인 보성의 가족 농장, 보향다원에서 옵니다. 1937년 농부 최재형 선생이 시작한 이 다원은 80년 넘게 같은 땅에서 차를 재배해 왔으며, 현재는 5대째인 최준용 대표가 2만 평 규모의 유기농 차밭을 일구며 세계적인 수준의 유기농 차를 생산하고 있습니다.
