ISSEI Mochi Gummies are inspired by the ancient Japanese tradition of mochi, thoughtfully reimagined for modern life. Founder Mika, a mother herself, began creating these gummies in her own kitchen searching for a cleaner, more intentional alternative to conventional candy.

By innovating on mochi’s beloved texture, she developed the world’s first shelf stable mochi gummy that is plant based, gelatin free, gluten free, and naturally colored.

The name Issei means “first star” or “one life” in Japanese, and also refers to first generation Japanese immigrants in the United States. It reflects a spirit of hope, heritage, and cultural sharing. Through candy, Issei builds bridges, connecting tradition and innovation, memory and delight, one soft and chewy bite at a time.

이세이 모치 구미는 일본 전통 모치에서 출발해, 현대적인 방식으로 재해석한 새로운 형태의 캔디입니다.
창립자 미카는 아이들이 쉽게 찾는 기존 구미 간식에 아쉬움을 느껴, 직접 주방에서 레시피를 만들기 시작했어요.

그 결과 탄생한 것이 바로 세계 최초의 상온 보관이 가능한 모치 구미입니다.
젤라틴 없이, 글루텐 없이, 자연 유래 색소만을 사용해 누구나 부담 없이 즐길 수 있도록 만들었죠.

‘이세이(Issei)’는 일본어로 ‘첫 번째 별’ 혹은 ‘하나의 삶’을 뜻하며, 동시에 미국에 정착한 1세대 일본 이민자를 의미하기도 합니다.  이세이는 음식이라는 가장 보편적인 언어를 통해, 문화와 세대를 잇는 브랜드가 되고자 합니다.
