Kim'C Market at the Smorgasburg Tea Festival

Kim'C Market took part in the Smorgasburg Tea Festival, held August 8–9, 2026, in New York City, as the featured Korean vendor.

Smorgasburg is the largest weekly open-air food market in the United States, founded in Brooklyn in 2011 and now a fixture of the New York food scene. For this special weekend, the market turned its focus to tea — presented in partnership with Brown Girl Magazine and The BLP Experience — gathering vendors from around the world to walk visitors through tea traditions across cultures, from matcha and Pakistani chai to Peruvian emoliente. Kim'C Market was invited to represent Korea.

At the booth, Kim'C Market introduced a range of Korean teas that were new to many visitors: Organic Korean Plum (Maesil) Extract, made from green plums aged three years in Hadong; Organic Tartary Buckwheat Tea from Odaesan Food; Ssanghwa Dabang Ginger Tea, made with Seosan ginger; Organic Brown Rice Tea from Misillan; and Organic Mugwort Tea from Bohyang Dawon. Nearly all were certified organic, and each came from a specific Korean grower or region — the kind of single-origin, small-producer sourcing Kim'C Market is built around. The plum extract was mixed with sparkling water and served as a cold, refreshing drink — a familiar way to enjoy maesil in Korea, and an easy first taste for newcomers. Each tea was offered alongside a short explanation of what it is, how it's traditionally taken in Korea, and when Koreans reach for it — turning the tasting into an introduction to a part of Korean food culture that rarely travels this far. Interest was steady across both days, with many attendees encountering these teas for the first time.
