Uncle Gurye Korean Vegetable Pancake Kit
Made with Korean flour and organic vegetables from trusted farms, this mix fries up golden and crisp on the outside, tender and flavorful inside. A special herb from the slopes of Jiri Mountain, 쑥부쟁이 (bigleaf aster / Ssukbujaengi), adds a uniquely fresh, green, almost wild-herb aroma that makes these pancakes especially good with a chilled drink.

Perfect as a snack with drinks, a late-night bite, or a shareable dish for guests—especially alongside a glass of makgeolli.

Hana Makgeolli TAKJU 16 (375 mL)
Hana Makgeolli’s signature brew and the ideal introduction to traditionally made Korean makgeolli. Inspired by our brewer’s own family homebrew recipes, the TAKJU 16 is coarsely filtered, near-dry, and undiluted with an alcohol by volume at 16%. This wine is most well known for its creamy body and full spectrum of flavors from a wild fermented brew, starting with the extremely floral almost melon-like character of fermented rice, followed by the brightness of our wild yeast that is perfectly balanced with the naturally occurring lactic acid and rice sediment.

The crispy, savory pancakes with mountain herbs and the floral, grain-forward TAKJU 16 enhance each other with every bite and sip. With just this kit, a pan, and a chilled bottle of TAKJU 16, you can recreate a cozy, deeply Korean kind of comfort—on a rainy day or whenever you want to slow down and treat yourself at home.

Hana Makgeolli was born from founder Alice Jun’s deep connection to Korean heritage and the joy of making makgeolli. After meeting John Limb in 2017, the two business partners set out to become the first domestic producer of traditional Korean rice wine in the US. Inspired by the rich tradition of Korean brewing, they set out to craft a modern yet deeply authentic experience that honors Korean culture and brings sool to new audiences in delicious ways.
