Description
Cut Kelp From Wando
The warm climate and mineral and plankton-rich shallow waters of Wando with similar in-and-out tide conditions create an optimal environment to farm seaweed and kelp. The large brown algae grown in such favorable conditions of abundant sunlight is soft and dark in color with high levels of nutrients.
Cut Kelp from Wando by Manjun Seaweed comes in convenient thin rectangular pieces with a rich, sweet flavor. The kelp pieces are great for making a savory stock with a delicate sweetness or for having as a ssam or muchim. Deep fry them with a thin coat as a bugak for a delectable snack.
Plum Red Pepper Paste
Demisaen Plum Red Pepper Paste Sauce
Chojang is a sweet and sour gochujang-based Korean concoction that is great as a sashimi sauce or a sauce to make bibimguksu or bibimbap. But, it’s rather labor-intensive to make the sauce from scratch, chopping and adding ingredients into the gochujang. So, here’s an outstanding and eco-friendly product from Demisaen of the sauce that is convenient to have on hand – the Plum Red Pepper Paste. It uses a gochujang made with pesticide-free plum, Korean chili powder, jocheong, and fermentation liquids. It is a sweet-and-sour sauce that does well to bring out the original flavor of the main ingredients, avoiding going over the top despite having garlic, ginger, and sesame seeds in the recipe.
